The large northern zone (Norte Grande) of Chile possesses the best solar radiation indexes of the planet. It has a surface cover of 185,142 km2 (equivalent to 24.5% of the continental territory), it is inhabited by 6% of the national population, and has a density lower than 4.9 hab/kmē. This zone is dominated by an extremely dry climate, hence the dryness of the scenery, diversified by the transverse relief as by the altitude, which also turns it into an ideal profile for big wind potential and above all constant wind currents from the Pacific Ocean. Other sources of clean generation such as geothermal and "mareomotriz" are also present in this unique geography waiting an oriented investigation and associated to productive Chilean processes to transform them into energy solutions in a very short term.
